The Boulder Lions will face PAC Rugby when the Rugby Colorado Division II High School State Championship kicks off at Englewood High School Stadium on Thursday evening.
The Lions and PAC each advanced after winning their respective State Semifinals at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park Saturday. Boulder defeated Fort. Collins 60-10, and PAC Rugby defeated Cherry Creek 45-14.
Boulder, 6-1 in the Division II regular season, scored an average of 55 points per game during the regular season while surrendering just fewer than 10. As the number two seed in Division II, the Lions had an opportunity to compete Division I playoffs but fell to SWARM Rugby in the Promotion/Relegation match (see story).

PAC Rugby, 5-3 for the season, was the number five seed going into the Division II brackets, and the only team not racked in the top four in both Division I and Division II to advance in the playoffs.
In the regular season, PAC averaged 28 points per game and yielded 20. The name PAC is a derivation of Platte Canyon & Conifer High School, the names of the team’s two founding schools.
The Lions defeated PAC 43-12 when the two teams met in the regular season.
